The past year has been filled with so many incredible things that I don’t have room to even begin to list them. Each of us should take time, at the close of the year, to look back and praise God for all he has done in our midst.
However, as fantastic as 2014 has been for us, here at Clarksburg Baptist Church, it’s time to MOVE BEYOND. The reason it is time to MOVE BEYOND is because each of us has a role to play in what we believe is going to be an even more fantastic 2015.
Paul writes,
“For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them…” Romans 12:4-6 (NKJV)
There are two important things to remember as we head into 2015:
1. We are to use the gifts and abilities that God has given us.
It doesn’t do any good for a person to have a gift or ability if they aren’t going to use it. We need to be intentional about looking for opportunities to use what God has given us.
2. Don’t wait for someone to ask you to use your gifts.
Make people aware of your willingness to serve in a certain area. If the area does not exist, talk to me, or a staff member. It could be that God is calling you to begin a ministry in this area.
As we enter 2015, take your role as a part of this church seriously. Refuse to be a mere spectator. Be attentive for ways you can do what God has equipped you to do; believing that God can do greater things than we can even imagine through Clarksburg Baptist Church.
Your Pastor,
David Hulme
