- Move Beyond

Salvation means being attracted to, and coming to, the cross. That is what’s in it for us. But, Jesus says we are to MOVE BEYOND coming to the cross (what’s in it for us) to carrying the cross. The distinction between the two is stark.
In order to make that move, we have to be obedient to the demands of the gospel and set life’s priorities in that light. Jesus stresses the importance of that, in Luke 14:25-27, when he says that everything else takes a back seat to loving and following Christ.
I hope, this week, you will examine your priorities. How many of them are about “what’s in it for me,” and how many of them are about “taking up your cross and following Christ?” Write them down and examine them. Then prayerfully consider how you can change the ones that need changed in light of the call of Christ.
Gratefully,
