“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” -John 5:24
When Jesus spoke these words, He wasn’t talking about something that happens someday after the grave. He was describing a change that happens the moment we believe. Eternal life doesn’t begin later. It begins now.
To believe in Christ is to cross an invisible line, from guilt to grace, from fear to peace, from spiritual death to life that never ends. It’s not a feeling; it’s a new reality. You are no longer under judgment. You are alive in Him.
So many Christians live as if they’re still on the wrong side of that line, still trying to earn love, prove worth, or make peace with the past. But Jesus says, “has passed from death to life.” That means it’s already done. The work is finished. The verdict is settled.
To live in Christ is to live free, free from shame, free from the old ways of death that once held you. Every breath, every prayer, every act of love becomes evidence that resurrection power is already at work in you.
You haven’t just been given a new destination; you’ve been given a new nature. Life Himself now lives in you.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for bringing me from death to life.
Help me live as someone who is truly free.
Not bound by fear or guilt, but alive with Your Spirit.
Let Your life flow through mine today, so others can see the power of Your grace at work.
Amen.
