Nicodemus came to Jesus in the dark, but he left with a glimpse of the light. Jesus’ words, “You must be born again,” were not an invitation to try harder, they were a call to start over. The new birth isn’t something we can earn or create; it’s something only the Spirit can do in us. When we believe on Jesus, God breathes new life into our hearts, changing our desires, our direction, and our destiny. The old passes away, and something truly new begins, a life that reflects the One who gave it.
Maybe today you feel stuck between who you’ve been and who God is calling you to be. Remember: new life doesn’t come from your effort, it comes from His Spirit. Maybe what you need is to be born again. The same God who raised Jesus from the dead can raise your heart to life again. Or maybe you have just been living in that old life, letting your old ways lead and guide you, and what you need is to get back to living in the new life of Christ. Start today by asking God to teach you to spend time with Him every day so that you can walk in the Spirit.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for calling us out of darkness and into Your light. Thank You for loving us enough to tell us the truth, that we must be born again. Breathe fresh life into us today, Holy Spirit. Renew our hearts, transform our minds, and help us walk as new creations in You. May our lives show that we have truly been born from above. Amen.
