The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. -Exodus 15:2

The start of a new year is always a reminder that God is still writing our story. Just like Israel standing on the far side of the Red Sea, we can look back on the seasons where God carried us, even when we didn’t realize it in the moment. Strength, song, and salvation are not just words; they are realities for God’s people. His strength is what sustains us when we don’t have enough on our own. His song fills our hearts with hope and gratitude, even in the middle of uncertainty. And His salvation, once and for all in Jesus, reminds us that no matter how trapped we feel, God always makes a way.

As we step into 2026, the invitation is simple: seek Him with all your heart. God does not hide from those who call on Him. Just as Israel learned to trust Him one step at a time, we too are called to lean on His strength, rejoice in His goodness, and live in the confidence of His saving power. May this year not only be about making resolutions but about making room for His presence, because when the Lord is our strength, our song, and our salvation, we have everything we need.

Prayer
Father, we thank You for bringing us into this new year and for reminding us that You are our strength when we are weak, our song when our hearts grow weary, and our salvation in every moment of need. Just as You led Israel through the sea and gave them a new song to sing, lead us into this year with trust and praise on our lips. Help us to seek You with all our hearts and to find joy in Your presence. May our lives this year reflect Your goodness, Your faithfulness, and Your saving power through Jesus Christ. In His name we pray, Amen.
