The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight. -Proverbs 4:7

When we look at Solomon’s story, we’re reminded that the greatest leaders aren’t the ones who feel the strongest or smartest. They’re the ones humble enough to admit how much they need God. Solomon stood at the beginning of his reign with massive responsibility on his shoulders and said, in essence, “Lord, I can’t do this without You.” That honesty is what opened the door for God to pour wisdom into his life. Wisdom doesn’t begin with having all the answers. It begins with admitting we don’t. It grows when we come to God with an open heart, a teachable spirit, and a willingness to let Him lead us. The same God who invited Solomon to ask still invites you to ask today.

Life will always give us moments where we don’t know what to do. We face decisions, temptations, crossroads, and pressures that feel bigger than us. God never expected us to navigate all that alone. His Word says He gives wisdom generously to anyone who asks, and He never shames us for needing it. That means, at any moment, you can pause and say, “God, show me the right way” and He will meet you there. Wisdom isn’t about being perfect. It’s about staying close enough to God to hear His voice above all the noise. If you feel lost, overwhelmed, or unsure, you’re in the perfect position to ask for the one thing He loves to give: wisdom. Go to the source, and let Him guide your steps.

Prayer:
Lord, I need Your wisdom today. I admit that I can’t make wise decisions on my own. Give me clarity, understanding, and a heart that listens to You. Help me walk in Your ways and see the path You want for me. Thank You for giving wisdom generously when I ask. Amen.
