You know the descriptive phrase, “a ray of hope.” The idea is that even in our darkest moments, if we look hard enough, we might be able to see a faint ray shining in the darkness.
Christ came to bring hope at Christmas. However, when you read scripture you find that it was more than just a faint “ray” of hope.
Isaiah 9:2 (NIV2011)
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Christ came so that hope would explode. He came so that hope would be incredibly obvious to us. So obvious, in fact, that not only would we see it and rejoice, but that all the world would be drawn from their darkness into His light.
Isaiah 60:1-3 (NIV2011)
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”
This Christmas, bask in the bright light of hope that Christ brings!
Gratefully,
