The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. – Luke 10:2

Following Jesus was never meant to stop at learning facts or sitting quietly with good intentions. When Jesus sent His followers out, He showed that faith grows strongest when it is lived, shared, and practiced in real places with real people. Like a seed that only bears fruit when planted in soil, our faith comes alive when it is carried into everyday conversations, acts of kindness, and moments of courage. The disciples didn’t wait to feel fully prepared. They trusted that obedience, even with small steps, would become the classroom where deeper faith was formed.

Many of us wait for the perfect moment or the right level of confidence before engaging others spiritually, but Jesus invites us to begin where we are. A listening ear, a shared story of what God has done, or a simple prayer offered in sincerity can open doors we never expected. God does the transforming work. Our role is faithfulness. When we choose to love people openly, serve them genuinely, and speak of Christ naturally, we participate in a harvest that stretches far beyond what we can see. The joy of following Jesus is not only being changed by Him, but being sent by Him.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for calling us not only to believe, but to follow You with our whole lives. Forgive us for the times we have kept our faith quiet out of fear, busyness, or comfort. Give us hearts that are willing to go, hands that are ready to serve, and voices that speak Your truth with love and humility. Teach us to trust that You are already at work in the lives of those around us. Give us courage to share our story and compassion to listen well to others. Help us to pray faithfully, love generously, and live in a way that reflects Your kingdom. Use our small steps of obedience to bring great glory to Your name. Send us out with joy, trusting that You go before us, walk beside us, and will finish the work You have begun. Amen.
