Simeon and Anna’s stories remind us that waiting on God is never wasted. Both of them spent years, really, a lifetime, holding onto the promises of God even when it seemed unlikely they would ever see them fulfilled. Yet when the time was right, God honored their faith and allowed them to see Jesus face-to-face. Their patient faith became a testimony to everyone around them, pointing directly to the Savior.
In the same way, we are called to trust that God has not forgotten us. Whatever season of life you find yourself in, whether you’re young and eager or older and feeling overlooked, God is still at work. He sees your prayers, your worship, and your faithfulness. Like Simeon and Anna, we may not always know when our moment will come, but when it does, we’ll find that God’s timing is perfect, and His promises are true.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the example of Simeon and Anna. Help me to wait faithfully on Your promises, even when the waiting feels long. Teach me to worship You in every season, to trust Your timing, and to be ready to point others to Jesus when the opportunity comes. This Christmas, fill my heart with hope, faith, and joy as I remember that the Savior has come, for me, and for the whole world. Amen.
