- What Causes You to Believe?

Whoever is a believer in Christ is a new creation. The old way of living has disappeared. A new way of living has come into existence. – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (GWT)
Literally, this passage reads, “The old things did pass away. Become new haveall things.” The idea is not that the believer ought to be a new creation, but that he in fact is a new creation. It’s not that the believer ought to live like a new creation, but that the believer will in fact live in that way. It is important for us to remember that believers in Christ are not reformed; they are recreated. The old life has been demolished and completely replaced.
We cannot, however, become new through our own efforts because sin stands in the way. No amount of goodness on our part can remedy the sin problem. Fortunately for us, God has a remedy.
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. – 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT)
Christ, the sinless Son of God, died in our place as an offering for our sin. By confessing our sins, we are humbly confessing that God has done for us what we cannot do for ourselves. He paid for our sin. He gave His life so that we could be made right with God and be made completely new.
Will you allow him to perform that miracle in your life, today?
