Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” – Hebrews 11:11
If you have ever lived in a house for very long, you have probably found yourself navigating a room or a hallway in the dark. We get pretty good at finding our way through those well-worn trails through our home. Every once in a while, if you’re like me, you realize someone moved a piece of furniture or left a shoe where it didn’t belong. These unexpected bumps in the road can hurt, but just a few days later we find ourselves in the dark again pressing forward. Our faith needs to be a well-worn trail in our heart and mind. Relying on Jesus for our strength and confidence should be second nature to us. Sure, we may find ourselves hitting bumps in the road that we didn’t expect, but they only sting for a little while. We should find ourselves back to taking steps forward in no time, but you can only find your way if you have been there before. Don’t wait until the pain and obstacles come to stretch out your hand. Walk with the Lord daily and you will be able to find Him in the dark.
In Christ,
Pastor Phil
