Greetings from warm and sunny Cuba! I wish everyone could enjoy this weather. More importantly, I wish all of you could experience the wonderful work God is doing through the Cuban church. I want to share a few things with you about the ministry many of you have supported over the past 14 years.
This past Sunday, I preached at the El Jordan Baptist Church, in Havana. It is a community oriented church. In addition to many outreach ministries in their community, the church has a vibrant worship experience each week. Pastors Maykel and Mayra are doing a tremendous job leading this important work.
Monday we visited the farm, on the outskirts of Havana, that churches from all over the island use as a retreat and conference center. They continue to upgrade their facilities and provide a great place for children, youth, and adults to grow in the faith.
Tuesday and Wednesday, we visited the churches in Ranchuelo and Zulueta. Over the years, Clarksburg Baptist Church has had an important relationship with these two churches. In addition to financially helping them acquire space for worship, you have made it possible, financially, for their ministry to continue and flourish. More and more people are coming to know Christ through their work. In addition, the church in Zulueta has developed a deaf ministry that is the model for such ministries throughout the province.
I’ll give you a full report when I return. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you, and let you know that your investment in the work in Cuba, both financially and through your prayers, is bringing a great harvest. I can’t wait to share it all with you!
Please pray for the rest of our trip.
Gratefully,
David Hulme
Senior Pastor
